It may seem counter intuitive but the most powerful way to soothe being over stimulated or painfully sensitive to what’s going on is to become more aware or more present to what is actually going on. When we are more present we are training ourselves to come into the Now which, for the most part, is a more peaceful place to be.
There are a variety of ways to do this, a simple beginning is with the body. So many of us who have been sensitive all our life tend not to live in the body, instead we unconsciously try to escape it! We will appear a little “space cadet” like, not quite here.
Whether you are an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person – go here for more info –https://wordpress.com/post/catherinestrang.com/2867 ) or simply now feel more overwhelmed by personal and global circumstances, a soothing way to begin alleviating this is to become more present and aware of self and surroundings.
